Revolutions can take your whole life. But when the energetic songs of Latin punk band CARACAS stand up to oppressive governments, remember friends and families left behind, and echo the pleas of the displaced, they do so wholeheartedly, pouring blood, love and lyrics on the world stage, and inviting you to participate. Because we know you are listening, and we know you too, want change.
Un Viaje Musical por el Pacifico Noroccidental / A Musical Journey through the Pacific Northwest.
The story of Javier and Victor Badillo lays bare the dreams of the immigrant artist who finds identity and meaning by doing what they love, regardless of time or circumstance.
Inspired by their birthplace, Venezuela, the Badillo brothers started Caracas in 2011. Since then the band has shared the stage with Latin Grammy nominated artists such as Jarabe de Palo (Spain), La Gusana Ciega (Mexico), and Gondwana (Chile), and toured Western Canada and the Mexican Caribbean.
The band's growth has been shared and helped by many talented musicians, producers, artists, and music lovers from around the world, and from Vancouver, Canada, which they now lovingly call their "home away from home".
In early 2018, drummer Andrew Godwin and bassist Isaac Godwin joined the Badillos. They have been working on writing a new EP together, and expect to release it in 2019.
