Pizza Guy pushes forward

Back in October, my friend writer/producer Gemma Holdway (who wrote a short I directed a couple years ago) contacted me with a new idea: to enter a film grant competition called StoryHive (part of telecom company Telus's plan to create content for their private TV channel Optik) with her new script PIZZA GUY, a thriller/comedy about a heartbroken pizza delivery guy who gets hijacked on his way to a delivery, starring Thomas Nicholson.

Although we pushed hard in our campaign to garner enough online votes to get the grant, we didn't end up getting it -- but it gave us the momentum to keep polishing and adding value to our package. We recently submitted to the bravoFact film grant by TV channel Bravo (another content creation initiative by telecom company Bell) and while we wait for their decision, we continue to develop and push PIZZA GUY toward production. Gemma has worked hard to create a polished screenplay and I can't wait to direct this movie when the time comes. Here are the three teasers we created for the storyHive campaign, shot by my friend Shaun Walford from Shot by a Ninja!
