ROADS OF ITHRIYAH is a feature length character drama set in the Syrian conflict. Taking cues from Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line, Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now, and Christopher Nolan's Memento, the story follows a man, Ahmad, who is deprived of his formative memories, and is given the unexpected freedom to reinvent himself by piecing together the fragments of his past (as apparitions of his mother Atifah and sister Safiyyah), and his present, (with his brutal captor, Khalid). But Ahmad's visions of an alternative universe also give us clues as to what his life may have been, or may yet be, if he survives the desert, finds Ithriyah, and chooses his path to salvation.
